History Lesson–Bessie Coleman

My kids have been learning about early American aviators.  One aviator that really made an impression was Bessie Coleman.  She was a woman of color and determined to make a name for herself.  She certainly did that!  She was the first black woman to ever become a pilot.  If your kids are learning about notable early American people, here is a biography of her life (courtesy of Easy Peasy All In One Homeschool–history lesson day 32).  Enjoy and happy homeschooling!
