This was my fifth grade daughter’s writing assignment today (source-All In One Homeschool worksheet):

*Write a short description about your favorite place in nature. Try to use
possessive nouns to make your writing smooth and less wordy.*

I could tell by her groaning-with-an-eye-roll-and-sliding-off-the-chair expression that she wasn’t up for another writing assignment, but when I suggested she write a poem, she miraculously perked up…LOL!  She loves writing poems!  It amazes me how she can write one on a whim!  I love this particular one because it’s short, sweet, and to the point.  She had an innocent sense of pride when I told her what a perfect poem it was, all the while debating in my head if I should mention her failure to use possessive pronouns, but I was just thrilled to read such a simple yet profound piece of work…LOL!    Enjoy and God bless!
